Age 98, peacefully, with his family gathered, on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. Much loved husband of Erma, who predeceased him; loving father of Susan Ryals (Wes), Beverley Trautman (Ken), and Leslie Holmes (Ray); cherished grandfather of Amy Churchill, Kelly Fiorentini, Michael Trautman (Lisa), Matthew Trautman (Sara), Kathryn Holmes, Alexander Holmes (Kaitlin), Mark Ryals (Amy), and Kenneth Ryals (Elaine); also survived by loved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Bill will be remembered for many wonderful things he accomplished in his long life, but most of all for the love, time, and talents he showered on those he loved. He had a keen mind, a quick wit, and a sense of the needs of others. He left us examples of wisdom, faith, and courage. There will not be a day we do not think of him. We would have chosen no other. Family and friends welcome Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. FREYVOGEL-SLATER FUNERAL DIRECTORS (412-835-1860), 112 Fort Couch Rd., Bethel Park 15241 (opposite Macy's South Hills Village). Bill's eulogy will be read at evening visitation. Funeral Mass Saturday 10 a.m., St. Thomas More Church, Resurrection Parish. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
