Shane Samuel Robert Simon, 35, on December 16, 2021 in Savannah, GA. Son of Julie Spears Simon and Kenneth L. Simon. Brother of Angela (Michael) Kimble. Stepson of Michelle Arena. Loving Uncle to Kaylie, Brianna, and Skylar Kimble. Previously married to Brittany Simon. Dear grandson of Shirley Simon. Nephew of Connie (Mark) Monk, Cindy Umbaugh, Robert Simon Jr., Melissa Schantz, Jeffery Spears. Beloved companions, Cherie Palmer and D.O.G. He is also survived by numerous cousins, family and friends who will mourn his passing. Shane was proceeded in death by his grandparents Robert Simon Sr, Samuel Spears, and Gayle Spears as well as his uncles, John Umbaugh, and George Stevenson. Shane was an Army Veteran with B Company 603rd Aviation Support Battalion serving two tours in Afghanistan. Upon his return home he was honorably discharged under medical disability.
Growing up he enjoyed playing numerus sports including baseball, basketball, and football, and was an active member in the cub scouts where he earned numerous awards and badges. He always enjoyed being a part of a team. Shane excelled at Carson Long Military Academy which he continued on into his military career. Shane loved spending time with his family outdoors, and felt most at home when he was on the beach. Family and Friends welcome Wednesday 2-4pm, 6-8pm - William Slater II Funeral Service, 1650 Greentree Rd, Scott Twp. 15220. (412-563-2800) A Celebration of life will be held Thursday, 11am – Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 66 Grant Ave, Pittsburgh PA 15223.
