Age 88, of Green Tree, on Monday, December 20, 2021. Beloved wife of Donald F. Walter. Loving mother of Carlton (Sheila) Walter, Gail (Daniel) Durachko, Carol (Michael) Wallace and Kenneth Walter. Dear grandmother of Paul (Kelsey) Wallace, John (Megan) Wallace, Leah (Sean) Hart, Donald (Sarah) Walter, Adam Walter, Daniel Walter, and Timothy Durachko. Great grandmother of McKenzie Walter, Sara Hart, and Presley. Sister of June (Lloyd) Grace, and aunt of Lynn, Joanne, and Frank and their families. Preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Margaret Riffle. Pauline and Donald were married 64 years ago, December 26, 1957, at Wallace Memorial United Presbyterian Church (Unity). Pauline taught first grade in Banksville School, Pittsburgh and in Lincoln School, Lansing, Michigan. She was a substitute teacher for the Pittsburgh, Public Schools and had a long career as a pre-school teacher at Wallace Nursery School, where she devoted countless hours to preparing appropriate activity and field trips for her students. Polly enjoyed gardening, water-color painting, aerobics and water aerobics, fishing, traveling and most of all spending time with her wonderful family. Polly was extremely creative, funny, and kind - always with a positive attitude. She had a genuine interest in other people and made everyone feel special. She will be much missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Allegheny Health Systems Hospice (https://5814.thankyou4caring.org/hospice) or Unity Presbyterian Church, 1146 Greentree Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15220.
