Paul John Koenig, age 81, died of complications from Parkinson's at his home, Masonic Village on August 9th, 2020. Paul's childhood was spent on Stromberg St. (Southside), Pittsburgh PA. In 1961, he was drafted by the US. Army and he served four years returning home in 1965 completing his obligation in 1967.
In May 1966 he married Christine Tkach. In early 1970 they moved to Shaler Township, to start their family. Paul worked for Eazor Express then he moved on to One Oxford Center building in downtown Pittsburgh, where he worked as an elevator operator until he retired in 2006. He is survived by his only child Wayne, daughter-in-law Jayme (Simon), two grandsons Ayden (14), Cayle (12), his ex-wife and friend Christine Koenig, twin brother John Paul Koenig (Mary Lou), sister -in-law Pat Koenig, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
As per request, funeral services will be kept private and for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, please donate in his name to those that directly helped him the most over the past four years.
