Joseph Charles Gurske Obituary

Age 78, of Beechview, formerly of Mt. Washington, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021. Beloved husband of 53 years to Garnet (Reed) Gurske. Loving father of Robert (Lisa) Harlan. Loving Pap of Alia and Eli. Cherished Great-Pap of Charlotte "Charlie." Beloved brother of Ronald (Sis) Gurske, Marie Gurske, and the late Jo Ann and Beatrice. Also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Joseph was a loving husband, a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a tremendous bowler and golfer. Joe was a hard worker at J & L Steel for 20 years, Vater Hardware, and the Bureau of Mines. He was an avid Steelers and Penguin fan. Family and friends welcome Monday and Tuesday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at WM. SLATER & SONS, INC. (412-381-3345), 301 Virginia Ave., Mt. Washington 15211, where a Blessing Service will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. Burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Park.
