Age 56, of Overbrook, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 24, 2020. He is survived by his daughter, Angela M. Maietta; former spouse, Candy Maietta and her children, Collin and Hanna Chamberlin, loving son of the late Eugene and Carmella (Esposito) Maietta; beloved brother of Angie (Tom) Reinheimer, Rose (Frank) DeMino, Dolores (Tim) Leech and Gina (Bill) Helms; loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. Also survived by many cousins and special friends. John loved to cook and was a chef at the City Center Marriott and various other restaurants. He was an owner and chef at Maietta's Restaurant, Mt. Oliver. Family and friends welcome Sunday and Monday, 2-8 p.m. WM. SLATER & SONS, INC. (412-381-3345), 301 Virginia Ave., Mt. Washington 15211, where a Blessing Service will be held Tuesday, 10 a.m. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
